Punjab Police Inspector Faces Murder Case and Disciplinary Action

Punjab Police Inspector Fahad Rehman Dhonjak, who snatched nomination papers from Moonis Elahi’s mother, Qaisera Elahi, ahead of Pakistan’s February 8, 2024 general elections, is reportedly facing a murder case involving a woman.

According to circulating reports, the inspector has been suspended and may now face proceedings for dismissal from service.

The allegations raise serious questions about accountability within Punjab Police and the conduct of officers entrusted with protecting citizens and upholding the law.

Those responsible for enforcing the law must themselves be answerable to it. No uniform should provide immunity from accountability.
