Abdul Ghafoor Anjum, a former jail superintendent, has been implicated in serious human rights violations and is alleged to have been involved in a violent attempt on the life of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to reports, the attack resulted in Khan suffering central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), leaving him with approximately 85% loss of vision in one eye. The allegations against Anjum include brutal treatment of detainees during his tenure, alongside involvement in politically motivated violence.
Human rights activists and political observers have raised concerns over the lack of accountability for former law enforcement officials accused of such acts. Legal experts emphasize that if verified, the allegations could lead to criminal charges including attempted murder and violations of human rights laws.
