How General Bajwa conspired against Imran Khan

Unmasking the Deep State: How Military Interference and Corruption Orchestrated Pakistan’s Regime Change

Senior journalist and analyst Najam Sethi has shed light on the deeply troubling story behind Pakistan’s regime change, revealing the extent of military interference in political and judicial affairs. According to Sethi, the root cause lies with Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, who sought another extended term as Chief of Army Staff. When former Prime Minister Imran Khan refused to grant him a third term, it allegedly triggered a conspiracy that led to Khan’s ouster.

Multiple politicians have confirmed Bajwa’s active role in orchestrating this regime change. Miftah Ismail recounted that Bajwa himself once contacted him personally, expressing his desire to host a dinner for Miftah and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. He also revealed that Gen Faiz Hameed personally drove a car to the meeting, where Khawaja Asif was already present.

Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, in meetings prior to the vote of no confidence, stated that Gen Faiz and Bajwa helped them in the conspiracy. Khawaja Asif, in an interview with Shahzeb Khanzada in 2019, openly admitted that he met Bajwa’s father-in-law, where Gen Faiz was also present. Asif claimed they were told they had “enough of Imran Khan,” highlighting direct military interference in political decisions. Such actions are a clear breach of institutional boundaries and a violation of the oath to remain apolitical.

After the regime change, numerous confessions from those involved have surfaced, further exposing the conspiracy. These multiple testimonies from actors in the regime change have now come to light, confirming the military’s role in orchestrating the political upheaval.

The story doesn’t end there. Late journalist Arshad Sharif uncovered how Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s spokesperson, Muhammad Zubair, managed to broker a deal between the Sharif family and Gen Faiz Hameed. Additionally, Gen Bajwa was involved in judicial interference, with Hamid Mir testifying that the army invited journalists to a briefing at Army House against then-Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, which eventually led to a reference filed against him.

Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa was also involved in corruption, amassing illicit wealth through his daughter-in-law Mahnoor Bajwa, as well as his wife Ayesha Amjad. His daughter-in-law reportedly became a billionaire immediately after marriage, raising questions about the sources of her wealth.

This expose paints a picture of a military leadership deeply entangled in political, judicial, and financial corruption, an alarming breach of constitutional norms and a violation of the oath to serve the nation impartially. The story continues to unfold, revealing a system where power was wielded through illicit means and interference at every level.

These snippets from the past highlight the deep-rooted influence and controversial actions that have shaped the current political landscape.

General Bajwa wanted to get another extension, but Imran Khan resolutely refused. As a result of this refusal, he sought revenge and turned against Imran Khan, leading to the no-confidence motion! Najam Sethi

In 2019, Khawaja Asif publicly admitted on Shah Zain Baqri’s show that he secretly met with General Faiz at the home of General Bajwa’s father-in-law, where General Faiz explicitly stated: “We had enough of Imran.” Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed then offered to assist with Bajwa’s extension and, in return, proposed forming a government first in Punjab and then at the federal level!

PML-N leader Javed Latif is revealing how General Faiz (abusing his position) helped establish the Sharif family’s government. And to create this illegitimate government, they also ousted Imran Khan’s government first. Are the other individuals involved in helping the Sharif family rig elections not criminals?

In November 2018, I received a call from General Bajwa informing me that he wanted to have a meal with me and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. He said that General Faiz was coming to pick us up. General Faiz arrived personally driving the vehicle, and we went to the location where Khawaja Asif was already present. We also had political discussions, including with Miftah Ismail.

Admitting to this level of shamelessness is truly something only they would do.

Rana Sanaullah’s confession:

In exchange for General Bajwa’s extension, we helped to weaken Imran Khan and diminish his power! When will Bajwa’s trial take place?

Lieutenant General Faiz interfered in politics and was imprisoned for 14 years. According to General Bajwa’s statement, the other generals were just playing Ludo while Bajwa was involved in politics?

This video proves that General Bajwa and General Faiz jointly overthrew Imran Khan’s government, violating their oath by interfering in politics.  In other words, alongside General Faiz, General Bajwa and the figures who benefited from regime change are also deserving of punishment?

After Muhammad Zubair fell at General Bajwa’s feet, a deal between the Sharif family and PML-N with General Faiz was finalized, including the method and roadmap. And this was announced by DG ISPR in the following manner.

One day, General Bajwa called us late at night to the Army House and delivered a lecture against Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, after which a presidential reference was filed against him. Following Hamid Mir’s revelation, a proper investigation should be conducted by gathering witnesses against retired General Bajwa, and a court-martial should also be held. The list of crimes committed by retired General Bajwa is many times longer than those of Faiz Hameed.

Will there also be an investigation into General Bajwa’s daughter-in-law Mahnoor Bajwa and his wife Aisha Amjad? Because General Bajwa exploited Pakistan as spoils of war through these two women. Mahnoor Bajwa became a millionaire just two weeks after her marriage.

We, General Bajwa and General Faiz, used to sit together in the ISI Mess to make legislation, says Khawaja Asif.

General Faiz Hameed helped in forming PDM Government and ending Imran Khan Government – Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman

Khawaja Asif says, General Bajwa threatened us that if the extension was not granted, he would take over the government. Then why is the punishment only for Faiz Hameed?

Bajwa was managing Islamabad High Court judges through Faiz Hameed. Now, the question is: when will action be taken against General Bajwa for managing judges and interfering in politics?
