The Punjab government continues its reign of repression, even fearing peaceful protestors and activists with disabilities. Tauqeer, a wheelchair-bound individual seen in recent videos, was forcibly taken from Sohail Afridi’s convoy, detaine and sent to Adiala Jail for 30 days.
This brutal act exposes the regime’s deep-seated fear of dissent, even from those who are physically vulnerable. If they can silence a disabled activist, no one is safe.
There is no shame left in this government’s oppressive tactics. Shame on those who fear the voice of the oppressed especially those who cannot defend themselves. Justice and dignity demand an end to this tyranny.
