Brilliant journalist Arshad Shareef took a firm stance against the regime change in Pakistan, and openly pointed to military chief Gen Asim Bajwa as the prime figure behind the removal of Imran Khan. Known to have close relations with the Pakistan Army, Arshad Shareef was among the foremost journalists to report from front lines of the army.
His firm stance put him at odds with the military establishment. Numerous fake police cases were filed against him. He was also fired from his job at ARY news channel.
Later he had to flee to the UAE, and from there to Kenya. Eventually he was lured into a trap in Kenya, and brutally murdered by the Kenyan police.
ISI personnel, in collusion with the Shareef family, are widely suspected of sponsoring the murder of Arshad Shareef.
