20 Days Missing: Where Is Suleman Sohail?

20 days have passed since young Pakistani activist and digital creator Suleman Sohail was reportedly last seen on August 16. Yet his whereabouts remain unknown.

Suleman Sohail is a young Gen-Z social media creator, activist and philanthropist who became known for using his platform to speak about injustice, inequality, human rights and issues affecting ordinary Pakistanis. He has also been associated with youth-focused activism and the Pakistan Youth Movement/Gen-Z Rights Movement.

Before his disappearance, Suleman was also recognized for his social work. Earlier this year, he organized a major food-drive initiative in the Rawalpindi area that reportedly helped more than 13,000 people.

His disappearance has generated growing concern among fellow digital creators, journalists, activists and human-rights voices. His social-media accounts have also reportedly been deactivated or removed, adding further questions about what happened to him. The Human Rights Council of Pakistan has expressed concern over the reported disappearance and called for clarification and legal protection.

There have been allegations on social media that Suleman may have been taken away because of his outspoken views and criticism of state policies. These allegations have not been independently confirmed, and his whereabouts remain unclear.

Twenty days is too long for a young man to simply disappear without answers.
