He was the apple of his parents’ eye, a student of BS Maths, Thaqlein Haider from District Bannu.
The military court sentenced him to 9 years. One year has passed since the Supreme Court’s decision that allowed military trials of civilians. On May 7, 2025, the Supreme Court’s constitutional bench, while upholding military courts, directed the government to amend the Pakistan Army Act within 45 days so that civilians could be granted the right to appeal in high courts.
But even after a year has passed, no amendment has been made, no right to appeal has been granted, and none of the promises made to fulfill the demands of justice have been met. Even today, numerous families are waiting for justice.
