Welfare School Serving 700 Poor Children Sealed After Noreen Niazi Attends Ceremony

A welfare school is being run in village 290 GB Rajana, Toba Tek Singh, under the management of the family of Brigadier (R) Javed Akram, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf who was sentenced by a military court. Today, the administration sealed the school because Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Niazi, had attended the school’s prize distribution ceremony. The school is operated under a charitable trust, and more than 700 children from extremely impoverished backgrounds are receiving education here. Schools should not be closed on political grounds.
