Speaking about the events of November 26 at D-Chowk, a man identified online as Major Imran says he was serving there as a company commander when he witnessed a praying protester being thrown from a container—an incident he says deeply shook his conscience.
According to his account, he was ordered to clear the protesters, even if it required opening fire. He says he refused:
“I could not fire on my own people.”
He claims that following his refusal, he was immediately arrested and held in Attock Jail for two months. After securing bail, he says the military initiated an inquiry against him, and that he subsequently managed to leave Pakistan.
The November 26, 2024 protest at D-Chowk was part of PTI demonstrations in Islamabad that involved major security deployments and clashes between protesters and law-enforcement personnel.
