Aleema Khan, Noreen Khanum and Uzma Khanum were arrested overnight under 3-MPO and transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail, where they are being held separately in the prison’s so-called “special barracks.”
Reports claim these barracks have extremely limited privacy, inadequate facilities, constant noise and harsh conditions that make even a single day difficult to endure. It is also alleged that an attempt by Dr Yasmin Rashid to provide them with food was not allowed.
Why are women seeking to meet their detained brother being subjected to such treatment?
Administrative detention must never become a tool for intimidation or political punishment.
Their safety, dignity, medical needs, family contact and legal rights must be guaranteed.
