Senator Allama Nasir narrates harrowing story of Mrs. Shahrya Afridi

A respected female senator recounted the horrific treatment meted out to her to the extent she could, after which she was put in chains. She recounted her experience as follows: “During imprisonment, one day a woman was shoved into our cell with such extreme cruelty and indignity, as if some lifeless object had been flung inside. She fell to the ground, so we stepped forward to support and lift her. We asked her who she was. At that moment, she was in a state of intense fear, panic, and disorientation.” She further said: “I reassured her, saying, ‘You must not be afraid at all; I am a Senator of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf—introduce yourself without hesitation.'” To which the beleaguered woman revealed: “I am the wife of Shahryar Afridi.” Today, we are dealing with elements who are utterly devoid of all moral, legal, and human values, for whom human dignity and modesty hold no worth whatsoever. — Leader of the Opposition, Senate of Pakistan, Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas
