Social media activist Saleem Khan not allowed to attend funeral of his wife

In Lahore, social media activist Saleem Khan has been unjustly imprisoned in Lahore Camp Jail for approximately the past six weeks. He is accused of posting an anti-state tweet, although his alleged offense was simply resharing a tweet in support of Imran Khan. As a result, a case was registered against him under the PECA Act, and he was arrested.

Last night, his wife suffered a fatal attack and passed away. Her funeral has been scheduled for this afternoon. However, the Punjab government is reportedly refusing to allow him to attend his wife’s funeral.

According to reports, all relevant officers are on holiday, making it “impossible” to grant permission.

A grieving husband is being denied the chance to bid a final farewell to his wife.
