In a shocking escalation, the Director General of ISPR, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudry, publicly threatened and now allegedly orchestrated violence against Barrister Shahzad Akbar. During a recent press conference on 5th December 2025 , Arshad openly declared he “does not even want to see Shahzad Akbar’s face,” signaling a clear intent to intimidate and harm.
Today, in Cambridge, UK, Shahzad Akbar was brutally attacked at his residence. An assailant, aged between 25 and 30, viciously beat him, fracturing his nose and jaw. The attack appears to be linked to the threatening rhetoric from Lt Gen Ahmed, raising serious questions about state-sponsored violence and political vendettas.
This brutal assault is part of a disturbing pattern. The current regime’s beneficiaries, already engaged in blatant lawlessness, continue to terrorize innocent women, men, and children. Last year, they opened fire directly on peaceful protestors on November 26th, killing and injuring many, all while suppressing dissent and violating every law and human right.
As authorities investigate this heinous act, the nation demands accountability. These lawless actions reveal a regime that has abandoned justice, rule of law, and human decency, turning the country into a battleground of violence and repression.
My friend & longtime fellow human rights lawyer @ShazadAkbar former Min for Accountability in PK attacked in England again today. Thug knocked on his door, threw 20 punches at his face, sending him to hospital. I’d already alerted @shabanamahmood nothing meaningful done…
